Adopt-A-Family is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit, charitable organization established in 1983 dedicated to restoring families in crisis to stability and self-sufficiency by providing access to all-encompassing services
to families and their children.

Housing prices have risen seven times faster than salaries in Palm Beach County.  In 2008, a person has to earn $22.85 per hour (or $47,520 per year) to afford a two-bedroom apartment.  The median price for a single family home in March 2008 was $320,200.

In 2004, 1 in 3 households earning less than $35,000 ran out of food to feed their families before they had enough money to buy more. 5.5% of these children went an entire day without eating.
